These two are inseparable ... constantly joking around. I'm so thankful that Jacob is such a hands on type of dad. Red Robin for lunch. Their burgers are pretty amazing right?
Here we are, at our destination in St. Helens Oregon where a month long Halloweentown celebration takes place. To be honest I've only seen Halloweentown II in bits and pieces a long time ago but I know that Debbie Reynolds comes out in it. Parts of the film were filmed in Oregon so I told Jacob that we should go check it out. St. Helens is forty minutes outside Portland.
The town decorates it's downtown with several original movie props. It was neat but I was a bit bummed to also see the area looking too plain. I expected more I guess.
City Hall. This is the only building that the town kept the same as in the movie. That was cool.
And the stained glass windows were also left from the movie set.
Once we were done with the city hall tour we walked a bit more but left shortly after. We headed over to Tualatin. It's about twenty two minutes South of Portland. I don't like to stay in Portland. Too crazy for us. Besides Tualatin has a Cracker Barrel, yum!!! Excellent and cozy place for breakfast.
We sure enjoy Cracker Barrel's coffee. And of course their country store always has super cute things for the home. They also sell faith based books. Nice.
Right across the parking lot there's a Cabella's. We hadn't been inside one so we went in to check it out. Riley liked the huge fish tank but I must say that Bass Pro Shop is one hundred times better ... more variety in a number of sports/water activities and not to mention the decor. Bass Pro Shop is just cozier with their huge fireplace and lounge area in the lobby plus they have bowling!
It was a very nice Autumn day. That cozy feeling that only crisp weather brings.
Traveling with kids is non-stop restroom breaks. Jacob always making it a competition and Riley enjoys that very much.
Mother nature is always speaking. She speaks in language
understood within the peaceful mind of the sincere observer.
