Riley's Botanical Gardens Visit

This little guy currently has a cold. He seems to be doing ok during the day but like it always happens he's uncomfortable at night. When he's sick I let him sleep in our bed so the first night he came down with a cold I hardly slept since he kept waking up about every hour because of a clogged nose and the constant drip one gets. I definitely was tired the next day as I'm sure he was too. No wonder I've been feeling very tired lately. You know how needy sick kids can get. Anyway...

Several weeks ago we went to the Seattle Botanical Gardens. It was our fist time there. It was a cool sunny day, a bit too much sun for me so I kept looking for the shady trails to walk on.

Not sure what type of tree this was and I didn't see a marker on it but it's branches draped down creating a pretty cool shady canopy. Riley's crooked smile is silly.

Again with his poses. I had told him to go up some stairs so I could take a picture and he posed like this all by himself. Such a cute little guy!

Riley made this little girl mad. Well, this is what happened ... We were walking by and Riley said he wanted to walk on the leaves so we let him. Meanwhile this little girl was making a pile of leaves to jump in. Riley noticed what she was doing then the mom told the little girl to ask Riley if he wanted to jump in the leaf pile too. Riley said yes. So the little girl began to count. 1, 2, 3 but Riley beat her to it, he jumped right on three and the little girl got mad at him and threw a tantrum. It was funny to see but also somewhat shocking that the mom would allow her daughter to throw a fit instead of correcting her and turning this experience into an educational one. Oh well. It just goes to show how liberal some families are even when it comes to discipline. Just glad we're not one of them.

What can I say ... Riley just has quick reflexes and he shouldn't be chastised because of it.
