Off to the Pumpkin Patch!

We knew it was going to be a rainy Saturday but like we're known to do, we still proceeded with our plans to visit the pumpkin patch.
We went back to Bob's pumpkin farm. We really like it here. I think they have the sweetest and freshest corn I've ever had and their pumpkin and apple cider donuts are so so good!

I finally got Riley a raincoat ... I am so happy about that. Now I don't have to worry about him getting soaked. Although it was raining there was quite a bit of people.

He loved the fact that he could be out in the rain. He splashed in puddles and ran all around. I did have to dry his face every now and then though.

The first thing we did was to grab some of their sweet roasted corn. It's seriously good. I'm so glad they have a covered eating area.

We then got on their tractor hay ride that took us to the pumpkin patch across the road. I really like the scenery and I especially like it when there's low clouds/fog over the distant mountains.

These two couldn't wait to walk through the corn maze. Jacob and I decided at the last minute not to do the corn maze. I thought since it was raining that we should pick pumpkins while Sydna and Nathan went though the maze. I was most interested in searching for pumpkins.

Riley was so eager about picking pumpkins that he wanted to put every other pumpkin in the wheelbarrow.
So glad we had our rain boots on. You can just imagine how muddy it was out here. I could feel my boots sinking in the mud. The best part was not having to worry about getting muddy. I sure loved that!

Getting rained on sure makes things a tad challenging but we still enjoyed ourselves ... we weren't going to let mother nature spoil our fun. Just glad it was rain and not heat that we had to deal with.

After we gathered enough pumpkins we headed over towards the washing stations.

And while we waited for Sydna and Nathan to get out of the corn maze and for the tractor hay ride to come around Riley decided it would be fun to dance in the rain.

We bought pumpkin and apple cider donuts. They were both good but I liked the apple cider donuts the best. They were so soft and very addicting, kinda scary really cause I could have finished the whole bag. I would have too if I would have had some yummy coffee to go along with it.

Once we got home we all changed into warm clothes and I brewed some coffee, lit the candles on my mantel and put on a family halloween movie.

We love visiting the pumpkin patch. Everything about it is fun.

Some Country Lovin'

I love this little space of mine.
I love that my children can look back on this and enjoy reading about everything we used to do as a family.
Aside from the happy times they will also read of things that upset, irritate or saddens me ... besides, they are the ones that know me the best and wont criticize me for being honest.

I really should have named my last post "everything in between" ... that being part of my blog description. Whenever there's random topics I want to give my perspective on I really should consider naming those posts everything in between.
As I continue to mature over the years I've noticed that some of the things that used to bother me when I was in my twenties don't bother me now, that and a combination of being more controlled. BUT, there are things that after a while of pondering on them will aggravate my opinion about them and there's nothing else to do but unleash the ugly so I can be at ease again. Of course I try my best to not dwell on things that have a negative effect on me but it happens just the same. It's normal. I'm human. I'll express my frustrations. I'll get over them.
And that's what you will see on here from time to time {so don't be taken aback}. Some may understand my frustrations others won't, some may think they are petty even ... but that's ok because we're all different and well, different things will bother us in different ways. That's just how it is.

Riley napping has been hit and miss these last several weeks. He's also been waking up in the middle of the night crying once again. Some nights he'll wake up once but other nights he's woken up -up to four times! Totally in uncharted territory ... for us that is. Didn't experience this with Sydna or Nathan.

One day when he was playing in the garage he spotted the dust pan and began sweeping the garage floor ... all on his own. When he sees me cleaning the floors he always asks, "what are you doing?" and I tell him that I'm cleaning the floor so it can look nice. Anything that I do he'll ask what I'm doing. He's learning ... and it's cute to see his interest in things.

It rained the whole night on Wednesday and into Thursday. It rained hard on and off the entire day. I had to make two grocery store stops. At one of those stops I picked up white chocolate covered oreos. They are yummy. I'm not sure if Riley really liked them because he only ate half of one, that was it but we finished them all.

I was looking through my Christmas totes the other day. Riley pulled out one of our Santa hats and asked to wear it. He left it on when we went out to the store. Cutie pie.

I picked up pan dulce {Mexican sweet bread} and salsa then we headed over to the craft store. I felt my mantle was still missing something and I decided a felt ball garland would be the missing piece. Once home I let Riley have samples of the pan dulce I bought before lunch. He was happy about that.

Later that day my sister and parents face time with the kids. They let Riley face time last because he's the one that takes the longest, lol. He's so cute too. Just bringing up random things that my parents sometimes have no clue to what he's saying so we have to fill them in.

Greeting me first thing in the morning. She'll lay on my chest and purr. She has the faintest purr ever. This is when she's the most lovable with me.

Had my favorite for breakfast ... Jacob had country sausage and Riley was hoping to get a sip of dunkin decaf.

Riley is so outspoken, definitely took after his father. {Jacob once called a man turkey bologna for no reason when he was a child. Hope my kid wont be rude like that}. We were at the meat department at Albertsons and when he saw the ground beef he said, "look worms!" in a loud voice. He was probably shocked that a grocery store would have worms. I couldn't help but laugh.

The one time he did nap we had to wake him because he had already been napping for over two hours. He didn't like that too much.

Elton, lol.

If you're a big fan of the McRib like Jacob is make sure you get your fix before they stop selling them.

Sunday we took a drive to Snohomish County. That's also where the pumpkin patch is at. Pretty country side.

We accidentally stumbled upon their historic downtown. It's very cute!

I forget the name of this store but everything inside was so pretty. I would love to have this desk. If you look closely you will see that it's a door. They just added legs and glass to it. Isn't it cool?!!

And this couch. Absolutely gorgeous!

We walked inside another store. A country store. I also loved everything inside this store. This sign made me smile.

Snohomish river. In case you're wondering, it's about a thirty minute drive to Seattle.

Nathan got himself the latest book of Diary of a Wimpy Kid. I wasn't even aware that a new one had come out. I wonder if that one will be turned into a movie as well. My favorite has been the second movie; Rodrick Rules. It's quite funny ... although I really can't stand the main kids {Greg} character. He's so full of himself and so mean to Rowley. They are funny movies though.

Jacob finally made his ever delicious pumpkin bars over the weekend.

I found this little guy picking at it.

We saw the movie The Purge. It's about one night out of the year anyone can commit a crime even murder and the government supports it. They claim that by purging yourself of hatred/bitterness/etc in one night it makes the economy better and crime at an all time low. By killing the lazy and poor. The movie was just a trip and honestly totally mind blowing that a government would support such a horrible thing. The other movie we wanted to see was The Conjuring but it wasn't available. Hope to watch it this coming weekend. The second movie we watched was Grown Ups 2. It was funny but it was also very tacky and crude. We couldn't stop saying "yuck, gross, ohmygosh!". It was ok. The one guy that didn't come out was Rob Schneider.

I have been recording Hallmark Christmas movies like crazy. I'll probably use up all the memory on the dvr, lol.

I cannot believe the year is almost over. Unreal.
