Ferry Ride from Seattle to Bremerton

Sunday - Bremerton visit

Since we like the ferry so much we took this route instead of driving on the freeway which is the longer way to get to Bremerton, plus it was a sunny day which meant that we were able to see everything around us.

Once we arrived at the ferry dock we had to wait about thirty minutes for the next ferry.

Once we boarded the ferry we went out to the viewing deck. Naturally, it was very windy and very cold. The wind kept blowing me backwards and Jacob had to hold onto Riley so he wouldn't fall. We were out on the deck long enough to take in a deep breath of the ocean air, snap a few pictures and then head back inside.

This ferry ride was about forty minutes long. It really doesn't feel that long to us especially if it's sunny. We like to take in the warmth of the sun and really enjoy the scenery.

Riley was enjoying a chocolate covered marshmallow.

He also liked looking out at the water. He stood at this spot for about fifteen minutes.

This is where we sat. As you can see, Jacob was taking in some sun. I'm telling you, it's quite relaxing. Nathan was snacking on some crackers and ham and Sydna was just happy, lol.

As the ferry turned left and came closer to homes Sydna and I went out on the deck to take more pictures. Wow! These people are so lucky. The view that they have is superb, especially the properties that have large backyards. Must be so fun hanging out in the backyard in the summer. Probably feels like you're camping or should I say, glamping. My kind of "camping".

Long ago, when Jacob first lived here in WA as a child he would go to Crazy Eric's for burger and fries. When we first moved here he looked them up but the location that Jacob frequented was closed down. It wasn't until recently that he looked them up again and found that there was another location in Bremerton. This location doesn't have a sit in area or drive-thru. One has to walk up to the window and order the food.
We ate in the truck. Jacob thought the food was decent. I wasn't too thrilled about it. He also got a malt and said that it was delicious. I'll take his word for it since I don't like malts.

If we go somewhere that's a bit far from home we make sure we make it a day trip ... might as well.
Jacob wanted to drive by his old Jr. High and High school. So he took us on a walk down to memory lane, lol and told us a story about a fight that took place in front of the high school. The high school he went to is huge. Well, it looked big from the front.

Also, Jacob read on Yelp that there's a bakery in Poulsbo {which is about a twenty minute drive from where we were} with lots of good reviews. That's where we went to next.

Driving into Historic Downtown Poulsbo was so cute. One first passes a small neighborhood with houses that are painted in pastel colors. How cute is that? Wish I would have taken a picture. Then you immediately come across restaurants, stores and a marina. There was also an aquarium I believe.

We found parking right in front of Sluys Poulsbo Bakery. I did see a lot of pastries that caught my eye but I ended up getting a glazed twisty croissant. Yum.

This front building is an Italian restaurant. Both Jacob and I want to come back once it's warmer and eat here.

Riley had fallen asleep and Sydna and Nathan were both cold so they stayed in the car while we walked down to the marina.

Since I didn't get a milkshake or malt at the burger joint and since I was cold I had Jacob stop at Starbucks for a peppermint white chocolate mocha. That warmed me up. By the time we reached the ferry dock to take us back to Seattle it was already getting dark. Again, we had to wait for the next ferry.

The city lights are so pretty.

Had an enjoyable time out but I couldn't wait to get home so I could change into something cozy. We are looking forward to doing outdoor things as soon as it gets warmer. Can't wait to pick all kinds of berries this summer!
