Throwback Thursday

I'm rewinding back to May 25, 2009 -Memorial Day.

At the time we lived in McKinney Texas. A Dallas suburb. The community we lived in was/is super cool. It's called Stonebridge Ranch ... a master planned community and we loved it there.  They have an awesome beach pool and an aquatic center ... several small lakes, one large lake, four grocery stores, a post office, medical offices, dry cleaning, dental, tennis courts, misc retail, country clubs and golfcourses, YMCA, parks, schools, a church. Well it's awesome. Almost like its own little town. When we left TX in the summer of 2009 they were still working on completing the Croatian style village, Adriatica. I wonder how it looks now.

We always had a lot of fun hanging out here during summer afternoons. The beach club would have different flavored wings catered in from Wingstop {on Memorial and Labor day}. Just yummy. They would also have activities for the kids and music. I would also pack a lot of fruit to snack on and we would sometimes even order pizza and have it delivered here. Fun times.

Being Mexican ... let me tell you, I tan easily. Even if I apply a ton of sunblock I will still tan and the first place I get a tan is on my forehead, nose ... well face and I hate it! SO since the Texas sun is so hot {quite not as hot as the Tucson sun} I have to wear a cap and a long sleeve top. It's either suffer from an unwelcomed tan or suffer a headache from wearing a cap. My head is so darn sensitive, period! I get headaches from the heat and from wearing baseball caps or anything that's of a snug fit on my head. Not fun!

This is the largest lake in Stonebridge Ranch. Oh, and just look at that house ... more like a mansion maybe? So pretty!
Seeing these pictures makes me miss our first home and Stonebridge Ranch. Too bad it's just too far from home {San Diego}, the ocean, and the summers are hot and humid. Ironic that we now live about the same distance from home just like when we lived in TX. Definitely a two day road trip.

We met several nice people living in Dallas. I've kept those friendships. Hoping we can visit TX again sometime. It would be nice to visit friends and to drive by our old home.
