An Afternoon in the Phoenix Area

11.1.12

Sitting in the living room watching tv and dish just shuts off ... nothing but static. Scary.

Anyway, this past Saturday we went on a short road trip to Tempe and Chandler, Phoenix suburbs. I had been wanting to go to The Old Spaghetti Factory for some time but like every time we make that drive to Phoenix which is an hour and a half away I need to look for other things to do than just go there to eat ... you know to make it worth the drive. We invited my in-laws to come along and in celebration of their anniversary we treated them to lunch.
But first we stopped at Ikea. I wanted to check out several things and now that I know that they have them there and saw them personally I cannot wait to buy them. Glad there's one in Washington.

There is no denying that Riley doesn't like attention so naturally when Jacob sat him on this rocking moose he immediately wanted off because we were all looking at him.

After walking through the entire store we headed to a park. I am always researching fun things to do and as I was doing that I found this park that has a large pond/lake, splash pad, of course large playground, choo choo train, and a carousel ... plus a snack bar which we didn't get anything because we had plans to eat at a restaurant ... just saying. Oh, but they had nachos. I love nachos! but I didn't get any. Boo hoo.
Came across this tree with a large weird looking branch. I love large trees.

A few weeks ago we took Riley to a park and Jacob put him in a swing ... well Riley leaned forward and naturally the swing tilted forward a little and it scared Riley. That's why he really didn't want to get on the swing this time and wanted out.

Swinging never gets old.

So happy Jacob never hesitates to play with the kids. Always ready to please them.

Getting their tickets for the carousel and train ride. Riley was looking at the Halloween decorations they had set up throughout that's why he's making that face.

My in-laws with Sydna and Nathan ... waiting for the little guy who was riding on the carousel.

Riley is a big fan of giraffes ... so whenever he goes on a carousel he asks for the giraffe. So cute!

Jacob and Riley and his orange balloon.

lol!

Riley ... the uncooperative picture poser.

Jacob took this picture ... love the branch that's in the way. Golly!

As we were walking back to the car Riley's balloon came loose from the ribbon. He didn't cry but he kept looking up at his balloon.

By the time we arrived at the restaurant we were all so hungry. Surprisingly the place was almost empty. We must have missed the noon crowds and arrived before the dinner crowds. Nice!

Silly guy trying to feed me. Notice his mouth. Hilarious!

About every couple of minutes the fountains put up a neat water display, that's why the three of them are standing there waiting for it.

After we ate and waited for the fountain to do its thing we walked inside the mall for a bit. We went inside a toy/gift store. My father in law and I were looking at puzzles and we noticed one that was 9k pieces and it was $109. Bet you can spend a lifetime trying to put that kind of puzzle together. No thank you.

We walked a little more and saw several shoes that caught my eye. Now I know what I'll be asking Santa for.

Weather in Tucson is still warm ... mid to high 80's however the early mornings and evenings feel good, chilly. But now that the weather is slowly changing my allergies are back. More sneezing, runny nose, dry skin and lips, oh and my eyes have been burning.
