I've always liked celebrating every holiday. I enjoy decorating even though I decorate in my own subtle way ... plus I believe it's a good thing to introduce and educate my children about holidays that are also celebrated in different countries ... the ones that I personally like.
My mother-in-law {Grace, yes we have the same name} with Sydna and Nathan snacking on chips and dip. So addicting!
Riley didn't care much about eating kiwi ... it WAS sweet. I even had a bite and thought it was very good.
He had a bit of a meltdown. Not about the kiwi. I'm sure it was about something that we didn't let him do {can't quite remember now}.
Ok, I know that when you celebrate St. Patrick's Day you're suppose to cook up an Irish meal but it would have really been a waste of time and food if we had made Reuben Strata. The kids wouldn't have want to eat it ... nor I or even my mother-in-law. The only ones that would have enjoyed it would have been Jacob and my father-in-law. SO we made pasta {lol}. We stuck to the color green though. We had chicken alfredo with spinach fettuccine. We haven't had spinach fettuccine before and I liked it, we all did. It was very tasty.
After we ate and cleaned up the kitchen we went outside. Surprisingly the humidity was gone by mid afternoon ... it was a relief. Jacob and the kids were playing football. Grace {my mother in law} kept saying that she was cold, it really wasn't ... it was cool and breezy just the way I like it. We let Riley roam free. There was 1:6 ratio {plenty of adults and siblings to look out for the little guy} ... so Riley was safe to walk around on the street and enjoy himself.
It stresses me out how Riley doesn't measure danger. He kept walking up the curb with haste and there was several times where I thought he would fall. So nervewracking.
Jacob's mom brought some delicious Blue Bell Pistachio Almond ice cream. It was sooo good too.I love Blue Bell ice cream! Riley got a whole cupcake all to himself. He doesn't really care for them much right now. He'll eat a little bit of the frosting, like five pokes then he pushes it away.
