I know it's been a loooong time since I've updated our photo blog and truthfully I haven't had the energy to do so. Right now, I'm feeling ok that's why I'm here.
When I suspected I was pregnant I did a home pregnancy test (April 16) and when it came back positive I was in a bit of denial or was it shock. It's just that it's been so long since my last pregnancy that I didn't quite believe it.
So Jacob and I knew that we were pregnant for an entire weekend but kept it quiet until the following Monday (April 19) when I was scheduled for my OB appt. That's when I was told that according to my last menstrual cycle I was 5 weeks 5 days along.
After I got home from the OB I called my parents, brother and sisters and emailed a few of my closest friends. No one knew that we wanted another baby let alone that we had been trying to conceive for several months so when I finally told family and friends one of the first things they asked were: Was it planned? Maybe they were more in disbelief because Sydna is 13 and Nathan is 9 and probably thought we were done having kids.
But anyways, after the shock wore off my family was very excited. Nathan is the youngest of the grandkids so it'll be especially sweet once the baby arrives.
The following ultrasound pictures were done when I was 9 weeks 5 days along. It was done vaginally.
It is amazing to me for something so small already resemble a tiny human being. I loved hearing the heartbeat. It was quite fast. I will not find out the baby's gender so we all are going to have to wait until December when the baby arrives.
Shortly after having had confirmed that we were pregnant my morning sickness began. I just knew I was gonna get sick since I had really bad morning sickness with Sydna and Nathan. Another thing that changed as well was my sleeping pattern. I can no longer sleep through the night without waking up. It takes me so long to fall asleep plus I toss and turn all the time. I'm thinking it's God's way of preparing me for those interrupted sleepless nights that are yet to come given that I'm not a morning person. Honestly, I truly believe that. So when the baby finally arrives and I have to wake up several times during the night it wont be so hard for me.
Having morning sickness has truly drained me. I have no energy and I no longer find it fun to do the things I used to love doing. I hope I'm back to normal soon because I really don't like feeling this way.
